She grew up in Stewiacke and graduated from Hants East Rural High. After attending Mrs. Murphy's School of business she went to work at the Nova Scotia Abattoir for several years until it closed. She then went work at LE Shaw Ltd as an executive secretary until they moved to Lantz. After that she worked at Halifax West High School as Guidance secretary. She was a consummate talker and a great story teller who would talk the ear off anyone willing to listen. Her greatest passion was shopping and she became a master at the art of getting a deal. Once she found something she liked she would stalk it until she got it for next to nothing. Store employees got to know her so well that if she didn't show up on a Saturday for their weekly chats they would call to check on her.
Dianne is survived by her loving husband Robert “Bob” Nadeau of Halifax; son, Shane (Petra) Nadeau; brothers, Robert Stewart of Stewiacke; grandchildren Beckett, Oliver and Drew; as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Jean and Menzie Stewart
Cremation has taken place. As per Dianne’s wishes there will be no service held.
