Dr. David Carson Murray passed away unexpectedly in Halifax, Nova Scotia surrounded by his immediate family. David was born in Springhill, Nova Scotia to Dr. James Carson Murray and Marion Murray (née Burke). He will be dearly missed by his wife of 57 years Anna (née Grant), his sons Mark (Andrea), and Scott (Cora Sperry) and his daughter, Karen (Phil Court). David was especially proud of his 6 grandchildren, Luke, Benjamin, Seth, Reid, Emma and Laura. Leaving behind his siblings, Daniel, (Mary Helen) Harold, (Donna), Anne, Stewart (Chris), brother in law Ralph (Barb), and predeceased by his youngest brother, Bruce. David was educated in Nova Scotia and Ontario and in 1968 moved his family to Newfoundland where he worked as a nephrologist for over 35 years. David also enjoyed his involvement and teaching role within the residency program at Memorial University. He often commented, if you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life. David thoroughly embraced his life in the Newfoundland community and had many wonderful relationships with colleagues and friends. Upon his retirement, David split his time between Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and Ontario enjoying the company of his entire family. He will be remembered for his love of sports both as participant and fan. Above all else, he will be remembered by those who knew him as a kind and practical man.
