David George MacLeod, 73, passed away July 5th, 2010 , at Maplestone Enhanced Care Home, Halifax after a lengthy battle with Parkinson Disease. He was a son of the late Foster and Viola MacLeod of Moncton and Halifax. David spent many years after school delivering hardware on a bicycle for C. Russell Isnor and 28 years at Maritime Paper Products, Dartmouth. David lived most of his life in the Hydrostone area, North End Halifax. He also spent many happy hours at his cottage in Mount Uniacke driving his speed boat and water skiing. David is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Beattie MacLeod; one daughter, Heather (Maurice) Richard and three grandchildren, Brittany, Dorian and Ceilidh;brother, Foster (Alma) MacLeod, Moncton. He is also survived by nieces, Krystle MacLeod, Moncton; Cheryl (Jerry) Enders, Ontario; Darlene (John) Senachele, Ontario and nephews, Brian Baxter and Michael Baxter, Moncton. He also has an aunt, Margaret Cox, Dartmouth. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Sondra (Frank) Baxter, Moncton.The family wishes to say a special thanks to the nurses and associates at Maplestone for their excellent care and also to the staff at Glades Lodge before he moved to Maplestone.Visitation will be today2-4 and 6-8 in J.A.
