Born in Ottawa, July 28, 1951, he was the oldest son of Joan Code(Prince), Halifax NS and the late Ronald Code.
David grew up as a military dependant and with his parents lived in Ottawa, ON; Dartmouth, NS; Stockholm, Sweden; Oslo, Norway; and back to Dartmouth, NS where his father retired from the Navy. David left home and for a short period lived in Newfoundland and then Saint John, NB, as a sales employee with Coates Distributers for many years. David worked with and served in the insulation business for many years (Rona, Home Hardware, Kent, Home Depot-just to name a few. Then he was off to Truro, NS where he was employed with Thermo-Cell, Debert NS, for the past eight years. He had many fond memories and kind words of mentor and supervisor John Surrette. He travelled throughout the Maritimes and Newfoundland to personally meet with his many clients. This allowed him the opportunity to have the face-to-face, one on one communication in order for him to understand and better know the people he worked for, worked with and served. It also gave him a better appreciation of their differences as well as their interests in common. He loved to dance and honed his skills with Phyllis through Edgette Ballroom Dancing. Literally following in his parent’s footsteps and thereby inheriting his father’s dance shoes and their protective leather case. The meeting and mingling with many like minded soles was a continuance of the joy his parents shared. The Newfoundland club was an added favourite where he met and kicked up his heels with all who wished to come out and have some fun and laughter. Family and friends were treasured by David and they in return shared his love of life, sense of humour and the warmth of his friendship. Survived by his mother Joan of Halifax; Life’s Partner Phyllis Mayo (Walsh)of Lower Sackville; daughter Lindsay, sons Ryan and Jason;.granddaughters, Mackenzie and Alaya; Karen Code (Ribo)mother of his children, all of Truro, NS; brothers, Stephen (Kate) Ottawa, and Michael (Michelle) Fredericton; a niece, two nephews; and many cousins, special long time friends Les Stride(Dawn) and David and Daph O'Keefe. Truro neighbours Deb & Bernie; Sackville neighbours, Lynne, Pat and Andrew. Several dear friends Marie/Shawn; Margot/Mike; Sandy/Sandy; the extended Walsh family in Newfoundland; Phyllis’ daughter Natasha (Raymond) and their sons Raydan and Noah.
