It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected death of Dante Harold Benjamin Atlee Morrone. Although he had a long hard fight with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, he passed peacefully in his sleep in the comforts of his home and in the company of close companion, Barb. Our Lord called him home to be with his parents, the late Nora Jean Morrone (Scott) and Antonio Joseph Morrone (Halifax business owner of "Tony's Corner"), as well as Ezio Morrone and Enrico Caruso Morrone - his older brothers.
Surviving family are former wife Claudette; daughter Allecia (Sean) and granddaughter Annalisa; brother, Cristoforo "Chris" (Joan); nephews, Andrew and Matthew and families; step nephews, Nathan, Ben and step niece, Kate and family.
Dante was an incredibly gifted mechanic, with many specialties including refrigeration, diesel, and heavy-duty mechanic. He prided himself on being able to fix anything – cars were his passion. He was very good at what he did and really enjoyed taking anything apart and putting it back together again. He was very jolly and always had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making others smile and laugh. He loved listening and singing rock and roll music, specifically KC and the Sunshine Band, Doobie Brothers, Huey Lewis and the News, April Wine and Bob Seger’s, “Old Time Rock and Roll.” He was known to impromptu sing when given the opportunity.
The family would like to thank the kind staff on the 8th floor VG, Dr. Forward and the Hematology staff, as well as Dr. Marshall family physician. Recently Dante was battling Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, but had a very positive outlook. He was always a fighter and fought to the very end. He will be forever remembered and greatly missed. Heaven has gained a gentle and sweet soul. Funeral and burial will be taking place later this spring.
