Colin Joseph “Joe Boy” Beaton - 31, Lower Sackville. It is with deep sadness that we announce that our dear Colin passed away in Cape Breton on June 30, 2018. Colin was born in Campbellton, NB, on March 20, 1987. Colin leaves behind his precious son, Maxwell; his parents, Kevin Beaton and Karen (Barrett-Finigan) Beaton (Lower Sackville); his sisters, Sara (Mac) Ashe, Adele, Christine (in Heaven) and Mary (Jono); his brother, Nathan (Aneta); nephews, Madac, Gabriel and niece, Kayleigh. He will be especially missed by Christina and Arielle; and a large family of loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Colin was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Ella (Billard) Finigan and Tim Barrett; and his paternal grandparents, Cyril and Kathleen (MacMaster) Beaton.
Colin’s greatest joy was spending time with his son, Max, and teaching him how to play the guitar. He worked as a taper and finisher with his brother Nathan to whom he was very close.
Colin was very creative, which was expressed through his guitar playing, song writing, poetry and drawings. He was interested in Science and Astronomy and a follower of MMA.
Colin will be remembered as a reflective and caring soul. He loved spending time with his family and travelling to Cape Breton. He could be found entertaining the children and was a kid at heart.
The Beaton family would like to send a special thank you to all of those who spent many long hours and days of their time searching for Colin when he was missing in the Port Hood area.
