MARCHAND, Cole Darrell - It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, Cole Darrell Marchand on May 19, 2012. Cole was the oldest child of Tania (Van Norden) and Darrell Marchand of Upper Tantallon, NS. Born on October 7, 1992 in Halifax, Cole spent most of his life in the Hammonds Plains community. The most important times in Cole’s life were those spent with his family while camping or out on the lake. Cole was happiest surrounded by those he loved. While Cole had many interests beginning at an early age, he loved playing video games and hockey. Cole’s real passion was in motor cross riding. Cole would spend many hours enjoying the outdoors while riding with his family. Truly special times were those spent quietly chatting with his mom, or out with his dad on afternoons exploring different trails on his motor cross bike. Cole also loved spending time with his family hunting, fishing, kayaking and at times playing his guitar and listening to music. Besides his parents, Cole is survived by his sister Carissa and his brother Chase; both grandmothers, Diana Van Norden and Joan Marchand; great-grandmother Joy Van Norden; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by both grandfathers, Raymond Marchand and Richard Van Norden. Cole will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 24 from 7-9 pm, and funeral on Friday, May 25 at 3pm, in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr, Clayton Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cole’s name to the IWK Children’s Hospital. To send online condolences, please visit: www.jasnowfuneralhome.com.
