Age 80 of Halifax, NS, passed away January 30, 2021 at the VG Site of the QEII
Born in Montreal, Quebec, Charles (Chuck) was the son of George Parker and Marguerite (Chaddock) Parker.
Chuck started his career in the Halifax dockyard and eventually worked as a Systems Analyst for the provincial government. Mary, his wife of 53 years, was the love of his life. He was a supportive and loving father to daughters, Heather and Debra. He was heavily involved with his three grandchildren and the adoration was mutual. He loved all animals especially his dogs – Peppy, Cassie, Buttons, and Tucker. He met Mary through the St. Andrew’s youth group along with many other life-long friends, who always made sure to celebrate their friendships together on New Years Eve. He enjoyed travelling, family camping excursions, and having a beer by the fire with the many friends who would stop by.
Chuck is survived by his daughters, Heather (Tim) Sanford and Debra Parker; grandchildren Cole, Grace and Matthew Sanford; brothers-in-law Richard Bocker and Roddie Gillis; sisters-in-law Pat and Edna MacLeod; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Mary (MacLeod) Parker; sister Gail (Parker) Bocker; sister-in-law Helen Gillis and brothers-in-law Thomas and James MacLeod.
Family burial services will be held in the spring; one in River Denys, Cape Breton, at the MacLeod Cemetery and the other in Halifax, at the St John’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society. To leave an on-line condolence, please visit: www.jasnowfuneralhome.com
May your wonderful love story with Mom continue and may a little piece of you remain with every life you touched – Heather and Debra
