JENNINGS, Carolyn Alice – Halifax. It is with broken hearts the family announces the passing of a wonderful mother and wife. Carolyn Alice Jennings of Halifax, Nova Scotia passed away peacefully Saturday, March 3, 2012 at home. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Allan and Gertrude (Hawkins) Butler. Carolyn retired from John W. MacLeod School after many years working as a school secretary. She enjoyed travelling, a little bingo and the occasional trip to the casino. She loved bowling in her weekly bowling league and watching figure skating. Carolyn believed in doing volunteer work, giving her time to the residents at Armview Estates, as well as the Camp Hill Hospital gift shop. Most of all, she enjoyed spending summers swimming and relaxing at the Waegwoltic Club with her family. She is survived by her husband, Warren Jennings and her daughter, Carol Anne Jennings (Keith Barker) and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers Arthur, Allan and David. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 8 at J.A. Snow Funeral Home on Lacewood Dr., Halifax (902) 455-0531. Burial to follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
