It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father, brother, son and friend to many, Bruce David Noddin. Bruce passed suddenly on April 23rd after a short diagnosis of cancer, with his family by his side. He was predeceased by his father Stanley, mother, Philla (Bagatin), brother, Ted and sister, Bev.
Bruce was born November 11th, 1954, the youngest of 4 children. He spent his childhood in Fairview playing baseball and hockey, and then settled there with his wife of 41 years, Nancy (Cragg) and two daughters, Leslie (Mike) and Alison (Derek). Bruce was retired from Canada Post as a letter carrier after 36 years of service, leaving a lasting impact on his coworkers and anyone he delivered to.
He was truly loved by so many in the community and beyond. Some of his most fond memories included southern vacations with his wife, coaching his girls’ soccer teams, golfing, fishing trips, and playing darts and pool. He was well known for his love of rock and roll and cheering on his beloved Habs, Packers and the Yankees. Bruce loved his many vacations on PEI with family and friends, as well as Saturday nights with the Thibeault’s (Rick and Doreen) playing cards and watching hockey. Bruce was happiest spending time with his girls and hearing their stories and adventures.
Bruce was one of the friendliest people you could ever meet and he was always quick to give you a laugh or lend a hand in any way he could. He was known fondly as “Uncle Bruce” to many (even outside his family) as he always welcomed everyone in with love. His smile was authentic, contagious, and especially infectious after you shared a beer or two. He will be missed by so many including his wife, two girls, brother, Tony (Ruby) Noddin, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and his fur grand-baby, Gussie.
His family would like to thank the team of nurses and doctors at the QE2 Emergency and the team in Palliative Care at the VG, for the incredible kindness and compassion shown during their brief time there. Cremation will take place, with a celebration of life at a later date.
This is not goodbye, just “see you later.”
We love you, always and forever.
