Its with broken heart the family of Bruce Jardine announces his sudden passing April 5, 2020. Bruce, survived by the love of his life Diane; sons Daniel (Jessica) and Spencer (Niki), and grandson Aiden, sister Nancy and brother Ralph. Predeceased by his father John Jardine and mother Marjorie Jardine of Sydney Mines. He was a very young 61 and had just passed his 5th anniversary as a stage 4 cancer survivor. He and his wife Diane had recently purchased a house in Chester to prepare for his upcoming retirement from the CRA – this coming July.
Bruce had attended UCCB for his Bachelor of Business Administration, and continued his education with the Accounting program at SMU. He was also a member of CPS and had been their secretary for a period of time.
He was an accomplished sailor his whole life. He had his 40-ton ticket for sailing, and was a certified scuba diver. He found his happiness on the water with friends and family under full sail; He found peace when he was on or in the water, and loved teaching others about his passion.
Music was his other passion – Bruce was always in a music group growing up, and loved to share his music with everyone around him. He would always be found at parties with his guitar in hand, and a crowd smiling around him. He could also be found sitting around the table with friends and family, playing crib on a Saturday night.
Bruce left everyone he met with a sense of love and he was always ready to help any friends or family in need. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. His greatest pride and joy were his boys – family always came first. His wife of 40 years, and best friend Diane, as well as his sons Daniel and Spencer, are shattered by this sudden loss.
Bruce was an amazingly humble, kind, caring and giving man. He was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and a friend to so many. He had integrity in everything he did, he was dependable, honest, unassuming, and one of the most intelligent men we had the honor of having in our lives. He was so happy, and always enjoyed life… and chocolate.
Please share any stories and/or pictures of Bruce to the Facebook group “Friends of Bruce Jardine”, so we can all relive the memories. This loss has been exceptionally hard as it was so unexpected, and we need each other more than ever at this time.
Although it is often said life is a very special gift – enjoy every day the best you can. Having Bruce in your life was a very special gift of its own. Always tell those close to you, that you love them. Help anyone you can – give and you shall receive.
In light of current health guidelines (Covid-19) – a traditional ceremony is not possible at this time. A celebration will be held at a later time.
