Born in Halifax on December 17, 1935, mom was forever a city girl having grown up on Walnut Street and until 2021, always had a home in Halifax until she and dad made Blandford their year-round home. As much as she loved Halifax, she always considered herself fortunate that she and dad were able to travel so extensively throughout most of their lives together (literally around the world!).
Mom had two green thumbs and her beautiful gardens and plants brought her endless joy. She was a fierce crib opponent and loved her days of weekly games with her bridge girls. And boy did she love to tease and joke with anyone and everyone she encountered. A quick wit and an endless sense of humour that we can only hope rubbed off on us, and stays with us for as long as it did with her.
She will be forever missed by her husband Malcolm (Mac), children Donald (Gwyn), Steven (Cheryl), Karen and Dianne (Francois), sister, Phyllis, her grandchildren and many friends and loved ones.
A service followed by reception will be held Friday, December 13th at 10am at JA Snows Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Souls Harbour, a place where mom always chose to support.
