She was born on July 18, 1926, in Faulkland, NS, to Guy and Edith Purcell, who had been to McNab’s Island for a picnic.
Growing up in Halifax, she was employed at MT&T as a long distance supervisor where she met and married Howard, her true love. She enjoyed her family, travelling, reading, her cat Henry and most of all shopping.
Audrey was the centre of her family’s universe and will be sadly missed by all.
She is survived by her children, Debbie (Donnie) Turner, Jack (Judy Reynolds), Wayne (Donna MacLennan), Colleen (Garth Foggoa), Glenn (Carla Zink). Grandchildren, Catherine, Elizabeth, Christopher, Meghan and Ria. Three great grandchildren; and her sister, Ruth (Robert) St. Martin.
She was predeceased by her husband, Howard; her sisters, Shirley Martin, Dorothy Voege, Joyce Giles and her brother, Albert.
Audrey is at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home with visitation Thursday between 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.. A service will be held in the chapel at Cruikshank’s at 1 p.m. on Friday followed by interment at the Fairview Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Howard.
