It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Alec Douglas David Corkum on Nov 8th in the Willow Hall of N.S. Hospital. Born on Dec 21st 1945 to the late James and Beatrice (Burns) Corkum, Alec was always very proud of his family and later in life enjoyed spending time with his own children and visiting his mother. He was always physically active and especially enjoyed baseball, fishing, and his work at the shipyard. In his downtime Alec could be found listening to Elvis Presley on his 8 track or cheering for his favorite hockey player, Sidney Crosby. He also loved spending time with friends playing poker and it was well known that Dad was all about his money and keeping it safe!
Alec is predeceased by both parents; brothers, Charles and Albert Corkum; sister, Louise Corkum and sister-in-law, Elaine Corkum; grandson, Devin Blakeney; niece, Tammy Murray; and nephew, Douglas "Dougie" Casey. He is survived by his daughters, Janice Beatrice Corkum (Frank Saulnier); Ann Pearl Bagatin (Robert) and Barbara Jane Corkum; son, David James Corkum (Almida); sister, Margaret Lewis; brothers, Michael Corkum (Joy) and Eddy Corkum; grandchildren, Brittany Verena Blakeney, Michael Emmanuel Blakeney, Melissa and James Corkum, Logan Robert Joseph and Alyssa Pearl Ada Bagatin; great-grandchildren, Faith Munroe and Aleah, Devin and Dawson Blakeney; his first love, Wyn Hatcher and his second love, Pearl Corkum (Harnish).
Special thanks to his sister Margie and his beloved daughters Janice (Snookie) and Ann for being by his side throughout his last few days.
