Geoffrey Adam Charles McLean of Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia, passed away on December 9, 2021.
Adam was born February 12, 1985, in Charlottetown, PEI. He grew up in Quispamsis, NB, before relocating to attend Saint Mary’s University, in Halifax, NS. It was there that he met his wife Beth and began to raise his family.
Adam was a wonderful husband to Beth and father to his three young children. He devoted himself to creating special memories with his family. They were his greatest joy, and they were all deeply loved.
Adam enjoyed boating with his family and friends, hosting BBQs and bonfires, spending long days at the lake, and sailing along the Halifax Harbour. He also enjoyed slipping away with the guys occasionally to catch his Leaf’s playing or to plan his next golf trip.
Adam was a life-long dreamer and visionary. He committed his professional career to development and progress. What was most remarkable about Adam was that he brought humanity and soul to his work and life. He didn't just talk about giving back to his community, he did. He knew the importance of treating people with respect and modelled that in his life and his relationships. Though Adam’s time on earth was short, his life deeply affected many.
Adam was President of Bedford Land Company and Harvest Homes, and was part owner in a number of land development projects in the Annapolis Valley in association with Brison Developments. Prior, he held various senior positions at Geosam and Armco.
He is mourned by many, foremost by his best friend and much-loved wife, Beth (O’Brien), and his three beautiful, sweet children, Ariel, Cayson, and Kinsley. He is survived by his parents, Donald and Eunice (Ramsay) McLean of Moncton, NB; brother, Nicholas (Crystal Drury) of Calgary, AB; sister, Tara (Christopher) Leger of Riverview, NB; brother, Corbin (Katelynn Holmes) of Yarmouth, NS; brother, Devon (Devin Betsch) of Halifax, NS; grandfather, Charles Maxwell McLean (Ingrid Goetz) of Courtwright, ON; parents-in-law, Kenneth and Jo-Anne (Spidell) O’Brien of Seaforth, NS; sister-in-law Katie (Jonathan Swan) of Spryfield, NS; brothers-in-law Kenneth (Heidi MacDonald) of Tantallon, NS, and Nathan (Sage Kavander) of Toronto, ON, and many treasured nieces and nephews. He will be warmly remembered by countless aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, business partners, associates, and community members.
Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects. Visitation is scheduled from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Tuesday, December 14, at JA Snow Funeral Home, located at 339 Lacewood Drive. Adam’s funeral will begin at 10am, on Wednesday, December 15, also in J.A. Snow Funeral Home. Please note that the funeral home does require proof of vaccination and government issued ID. For those unable to attend, the funeral service will be live-streamed from the funeral home website.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in his memory to the IWK Health Centre or to the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia.
