Bill was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Ann Frank. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Joyce, his sister Judy Jacobs, his children Steven Frank (Clodagh), Jill Frank DeLuise (Larry), and Jaime Frank Battista (Kenny) and seven grandchildren Dylan, Katharine, Chase, Tristan, Parker, Blake and Spencer who all adored him.
Bill was born on January 8th, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois where he spent his formative years. He attended the University of Illinois and Roosevelt University. He met the love of his life Joyce Vondra in 1963 while both working at Petrie Stores Corporation in Chicago, sparking an office romance that lasted 60 years.
Bill had an illustrious career bringing he and his family cross country many times between the East and West Coasts. He climbed the corporate ladder quickly and at a young age being named Director of Finance at International Paper Company then later appointed Chief Financial Officer at United Brands, then Dole Foods. Before retirement, he held the position of President and Chief Financial Officer at Revlon.
Bill’s presence was larger than life, quick with his contagious smile and giant hugs. He was a mentor and confidant to many, always willing to help friends and family with his thoughtful advice. He loved to take walks in Santa Monica, the beach in Malibu, and across the Brooklyn Bridge. He was a lover of sports being a 50 year season ticket holder of the Chicago Bears.
His proudest achievement was his family - his wife and children, their spouses and grandchildren around whom his life truly centered.
A Chapel Service will be held 12PM on Friday December 9, 2022 at Gutterman and Musicant Jewish Funeral Directors, 402 Park Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601.
Friends may begin to arrive at 11:15 AM for ample time to pay their respects to the family.
