William Brender

Beloved husband of the late Claire, he is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia (Cindy) Romm. Cherished father of Marjorie and Susan (Charles); stepfather of Stephanie and Lauren (Joe); beloved "Pop-Pop" of Allison (Eric), Brian, Jillian, Alex and Andrew.

Bill was a sergeant in the U.S Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953, serving in Korea. He was the former owner of Stateline Business Machines in Mahwah and a member of the Morris Yacht Club in City Island. Bill's two passions were family and sailing and he continued to sail into his 90's. Sail on, Captain Bill!

A funeral service for Bill will be held Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 12:00 PM at Gutterman and Musicant Jewish Funeral Directors, 402 Park Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601. Following the funeral service, a committal service will be held 1:45 PM at Beth El Cemetery, 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus, NJ 07652.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Sea Scouts at seascouts.org (Ship #104, Packanack Lake, Wayne , NJ), an organization which teaches sailing to young people and in which he was an active sailor/participant, or the U.S. Holocaust Museum.
