Manfred F. Ettinger

Manfred (Mendel) died peacefully on March 16. Born in Vienna, Austria in 1921 Mendel resided in Yonkers, New York before moving to the Daughters of Miriam in Clifton 8 years ago. He and his late wife Elsie spent many enjoyable winters in Sunrise Lakes, Florida. Mendel was the beloved husband of the late Elsie (Weinman) for 61 years. He was a loving and devoted father to son Bruce and his wife Terri of Clifton, NJ and daughter Sandy and her husband Andrew of New City, NY. He was the cherished grandfather of Adam and his wife Jamie, Joy, Philip, Ian and Harry.

Mendel was a proud military veteran serving in Europe during WWII. He had a long distinguished career with the US Postal Service. He was an avid synagogue participant at the Daughters of Miriam and supported many Jewish organizations throughout the U.S. and Israel.

Funeral services will be conducted Gutterman and Musicant Funeral Home on Thursday, March 19 at 11 am. Interment will be at Temple Israel Cemetery in Hastings on the Hudson, NY at 1pm. Shiva will be observed at the home of Bruce and Terri Ettinger at 6301 Harcourt Road, Clifton, NJ.
