

Lawrence Laikin, 85, of Tenafly, NJ, passed away on Monday, Sept 23, 2013. Born in Weehawkin, NJ, he grew up in North Bergen and spent much of his life in Teaneck and Tenafly, NJ. Larry received his Professional Engineering degree from Stevens Institute of Technology and was then stationed at Fort Monmouth, serving as an engineer. He then started a building development and management company, Larrin Management, with properties in NY, NJ, and MD. He was a dedicated board member at Holy Name Hospital for many years. Larry was an avid athlete; he enjoyed skiing, boating, and traveling with his beloved wife, Elaine.
He is survived by Elaine, his sister Fern, children Janis and David, and grandchildren Jenna, Alexis, Jessica and Eli. He is predeceased by his parents, Frieda and Louis. Larry's best moments of his life were spent surrounded by adoring nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, who fondly remember sharing summers on Candlewood Lake with him. He is remembered for his philanthropy, integrity, and most of all his devotion to his family.
Funeral services will be today at 10:15 at Gutterman and Musicant Funeral Home in Hackensack, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friendship House in Hackensack or Temple Israel Community Center in Cliffside Park, NJ.
