Helen Fried Musikar of Pembroke Pines Florida, formerly of Putnam Valley, NY passed away peacefully at home at the age of 99 years young on November 13, 2015. Helen was born in New York City on December 29, 1916 to the late Sam and Rose (Peppercorn) Fried. She was the beloved wife of 63 years to Sam Musikar who predeceased her. Loving, mother to Jay Musikar and his late wife Sydell Musikar of Palm Coast Florida and Sharon (Musikar) Michaelson and her husband Kenneth Michaelson of Vero Beach, Florida. Helen took pride in being a loving grandmother to five grandchildren, Merrill, Rhonda, Matthew, Jocelyn and Jessica. She also had eleven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Harry Fried of Margate, Florida and pre deceased by a sister Ida (Fried) Slutzky. Helen lived a long full life that included many adventures of travel around the world with her husband. She loved to share these stories and the stories of growing up during the depression and WWII with her family, friends and the people she would meet. It was it was not uncommon to find her at the center of attention at gatherings telling the fascinating stories of her life. As a child of the great depression, she knew the value of hard work and would often take on the role of financial advisor to the family. She lived by the motto "A penny saved is a penny earned". A truly remarkable woman, she will be deeply missed by those who knew her. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 19th in Paramus, NJ at Cedar Park Cemetery.
