Born in Newark, N.J., and raised in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, she graduated from Eastern District High School and attended City College of New York.
Anna met Howard Levin in a City College classroom. They married on July 15, 1951, and spent the next year in Riverside, Calif., while Howard was stationed at March Air Force Base.
Anna was an avid reader, moviegoer, and season ticket holder for the opera at Lincoln Center. She relished hosting her children and grandchildren on holidays in Queens.
Her training as a bookkeeper led to a 24-year career at the John Emmerling Inc. advertising agency in New York City. She rose to become comptroller until her retirement in 2002, at age 73.
She then moved to Florida, where she enjoyed her house at Cascade Lakes. She became active in the community and in her synagogue by volunteering in the temple’s gift shop. One of her great joys was becoming a Bat Mitzvah at age 83.
Anna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Howard, in 1980, twin sister Shirley Gold in 2008, sister-in-law Phyllis Kronenfeld in 2021, and brother-in-law, cantor Irving Gold in 1992.
She is survived by her children, Sherri Margolin of Los Angeles, Calif., and Jay Levin and his wife, Susan, of Teaneck; brother, Arnold Kronenfeld, of Fair Lawn N.J.; grandchildren Kyle Levin and his wife Gwendolyn, Madison Margolin, Harrison Margolin, and Shannon Levin; great-grandchildren Mateo Levin and Katharina Levin; niece Pamela Kronenfeld, and nephews Steven Gold, Ira Kronenfeld and Jeffrey Kronenfeld.
The funeral will take place at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 13, at Gutterman and Musicant Jewish Funeral Directors in Hackensack, N.J., followed by burial in Beth Moses Cemetery, West Babylon, N.Y.
