Allan G. Snider

Allan was born in Newark, NJ to Benjamin and Edith (Goodman) Snider. He grew up in Irvington, New Jersey. Allan served in the United States Army, from 1961 to 1967. He received a degree in Chemistry from Rutgers University and went on to study business at Columbia University. Allan had a rewarding career as a stockbroker with various firms including E.F. Hutton, UBS, Morgan Stanley and Oppenheimer. He married Joan A. Bressman with whom he shared a great love of music. Allan was a kind, gentle and dependable man. He had a great sense of humor. He valued his peace and quiet by reading one of his favorite three newspapers next to the family cat or beside his pool and sharing what he had learned about the market that day with his family. He gave back to his community, most recently through the Jewish Historical Society of North Jersey. Allan is survived by his daughters, Amanda Allen of Scottsdale, AZ, Dana Miller (Robert) of Maplewood, NJ, and his four beloved granddaughters Emma Allen, Karas Allen, Eve Miller, and Simone Miller. Allan is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gerry and his wife Joan. [See Joan's obituary in our website as well]

A Memorial Service for Allan & Joan will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Gutterman and Musicant Jewish Funeral Directors, 402 Park Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601.
