Brother Bubs,

You were one of the best!  Always there with a helping hand.

Bubs had a kind heart, there was laughter in his voice, a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes.  He was Thee Jokester!  Most likely telling jokes and wise cracking on his walk to heaven.  Listen and you can still hear him.

We had long talks on the phone talking about memories of long ago.  Pat came away with a smile when he would call her, Mrs. Secretary.  

Our deepest sympathy to Tina, Tim and their families.   May peace and hope be with you.  

We love you Bubs and will miss you.

Bob (Bubs) Cudworth was as good a friend and neighbor as you could hope for.  We had the pleasure and great fortune of being Apple Canyon Lake neighbors (albeit seasonal) of Bob (and May) for 16 years.

Bob loved friends and family and he would always go the extra mile for them.  For example, we asked him to water some plants on the deck.  He not only watered them, he fertilized them too!  If we heeded help with anything, “Bubsie” was always available.  That was good because he could do almost anything – and do it well.  

Bubs was good at everything he tried; and he tried a lot of things.  There was always a project that he was working on, and his house and lawn were the envy of everyone on Hawthorne Drive.  Another thing Bob was good at was golf, a sport he didn’t even take up until he was retired.

The Cudworth’s garage was a neighborhood gathering place and we spent many a happy hour with Bubs, May, and other neighbors.  This was one of the places where the jokester side of Bubs would show up.  He enjoyed pulling your leg and was an equal-opportunity leg puller.  Many a Sunday afternoon we found ourselves watching a PGA tournament sitting in their living room.  We also shared two trips to Hawai’i with Bubs and May.

We were shocked to hear of his passing because he was always so strong and fit.  He was far more active than most men his age.  When we last talked, around Christmas, he was his old self, pulling our legs and grumbling about things that irritated him.  We’ll miss you Bubsie.

We have made arrangements to stand several rounds of drinks in Bubs’ honor at the ACL Pro Shop.

Bubs became a dear friend and  daily visitor to our garage at ACL for the 10 years we were there.  Our dog, Piper, recognized the sound of his Gator and alerted us he was on his way up the driveway … always with some little treat or gift to share … taters, salsa, pickles, a pocket calendar, wild asparagus … he NEVER came empty-handed and usually left with a sweet or seconds for his supper.  He lent a hand on every project we attempted … along with much advice!!  He was a kind, gentle, strong and compassionate man .. and we miss him so very much.  Now joined with his “May May”, he’s resting in peace with the knowledge he filled so many hearts with his smiles & generosity.   Jan an Bill Spivey

Our fondest memories of Uncle Bubsy were the wonderful parties, especially the Christmas parties and fondue parties.  He was a great bartender and quite the jokester!  He had such a zest for life and adored his family.  Whenever we had a chance to talk to Uncle Bubsy he was quite the conversationalist, he was never at a loss for words!  We always ended the conversation with a smile on our face.   We are blessed for the great memories and he will be greatly missed.  Our deepest sympathy to all his family members.  You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Tina, your Dad was a kind, gentle soul, and I admired your close relationship the two of you shared.  Condolences and prays to you and your family.  May your memories with him bring comfort to your heart.

We will forever miss "Bubs".  Our deepest sympathy to his entire family.  We have so many fun memories of Bubs (and May, of course) as neighbors at Apple Canyon Lake.  We first met Bubs when they were building their dream retirement home.  We shared many events with them, trips, and just hanging out in their garage after a day of fishing or boating.    Bubs had a real talent for landscaping and spent a lot of time beautifying his property, which extended into the neighborhood since he shared his knowledge with others.  He loved our dogs and always had a treat ready for them when they came running down his driveway.  We really miss those days and have lots of great memories.

Bob was a special friend, and I will miss him!

I feel very privileged to have met this gentle man. Although I only knew him a short time, he made me feel like a long lost friend.  I treasure the memory of having Christmas dinner with him and my beautiful friend, his daughter, Tina.
May he rest in peace and his family take comfort in the fact that his gentle soul is at rest.
