Richard Charles Aho ,of Wadsworth, IL passed away Friday, August 19, 2011 at Manor Care Health Services, in Northbrook, IL at the age of 76. He was born June 1, 1935 in Waukegan, IL, the son of the late Charles V. and Evelyn (Spaulding) Aho. He graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1953 and served honorably in the U.S. Army, 3rd Armored Division at Fort Hood, TX and in Germany from 1958 to 1961. Richard enjoyed a long, productive career as a talented carpenter with Hanna Construction, U.S. Steel in Waukegan, IL, and Public Works at Great Lakes Naval Base, retiring in 1997. Richard loved life and lived it well, having a special connection to his Creator through all the beauties of nature he enjoyed so much. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Bette (Collins) Aho, step-daughter Brenna (Kevin) Moran, step-sons Steven (Shai) Will, and Mark (Amy) Will; sister Charlene Hook; niece Cheryl Griffin; nephew Rick (Debbie) Hook; loving great nieces; great nephews; step-grandchildren; and many devoted cousins. Richard will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered as a kind, honorable and genuinely sweet, caring man. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life with visitation from 6 - 9 PM, Friday, August 26, 2011 at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee, IL 60031 and a Memorial Service at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, August 27, 2011, also at Marsh Funeral Home. A funeral procession and inurnment will follow at Northshore Garden of Memories, North Chicago, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association , P.O.
