Pedro was born in Matoral, San Luis Potosi-Mexico on August 1, 1948 to Pedro Gloria-Ruiz Sr. and Ofelia Martinez He moved to Kenosha at a young age and worked for American Motors for 14 years. He opened up La Fe Mexican Restaurant during one of AMC layoffs in 1976. In 1980 he moved his family to Waukegan, IL, where he opened San Luis Mexican Restaurant. In 1989 he found a larger location and added banquet facilities and worked there until his diagnoses. Months after his initial surgery he started to feel better, he opened up once again, La Fe Café in Kenosha in 2011. His passion was serving people and always helping everyone out in any way possible. He was very active at Most Blessed Trinity Church in Waukegan giving baptismal classes, lector, and as a Eucharistic minister.
Survivors include his wife Josefina, who he was married to for 48 years; his daughters, Socorro (Ramirez), Rosario (Castillo), Yolanda (Miller) and his son, Pedro Jr. He is further survived by his 12 living siblings, 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Pedro is preceded in death by his sister, Luisa (Tobias). His father, Pedro Sr.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Marsh Funeral Home in Gurnee, IL from 5-8pm.
Mass at Most Blessed Trinity Church in Waukegan, IL on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. Burial at Ascension Cemetery Libertyville, IL.
