Marion H. Dooley

Marion Hoenninger Dooley, age 95 passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024. Marion was born in New York, New York on December 12, 1928. Growing up in Queens she took a liking to the boy down the street, Arthur Dooley. Marion and Art married on December 26, 1949 and were married for 53 years. Shortly thereafter, Marion and Art moved to Gurnee, Illinois to run Lone Pine Orchards, an apple orchard in Gurnee. Marion had many friends from church, “The Orchard”, her bridge club and her time as an associate at Carson Pirie Scott at Lakehurst. In her retirement she enjoyed traveling with Art, Friday night “breakouts” with the neighborhood gang, breakfast at McDonald’s and bridge at the Warren Township Senior Center.

Marion was a hard worker and took pleasure in a job done well. She was a wonderful role model for her two daughters, JoEllen Dooley and Colleen (Scott) Pacatte. She is survived by her daughters her son-in-law and cheerleader, Scott. Grandchildren Blair (Liz) Pacatte, and Tara (Jarrod) Schnell and five great granddaughters Ellie, Jordynn, Kinley, Chassidy and Savannah.

A visitation for Marion will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 North Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL 60031, a chapel service will occur at 4:30 PM, officiated by Deacon Michael Penich. Burial will be private.
