Lena Jeanette Colletti (nee Criner) born 1918, a resident of Warren Township for the past 63 years passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 9th at the age of 104 at Sunrise Senior Living in Gurnee where she resided in good care the past 2 months.
Her greatest passion, beside family, was to work outside in her yard. She loved sewing and upholstering. She and her late best friend Betty Bradbury, in past years, volunteered at Winchester House in Libertyville to read the Bible to residents. Her house and table were open to friends and family throughout the decades.
Through the 1960's and into the 70's she bred and raised AKC German Shepards, showed Cats, kept and fostered horses, unwanted dogs and cats that she would find permanent homes for until just recently as a lifelong animal lover.
She was preceded in death by her late husband Sam, late daughter Delores Luna (Don) and her late stepdaughter Joan Orlandi (Aldo). She is survived by her son Sam Colletti (Michele) and a stepdaughter Caroline Faber, grandchildren Bob Negri, Lisa Peters (George). Anthony Colletti (Stacy), Christopher Colletti (Brittany) and Gina Colletti. Also survived by great grandchildren Erik Negri (Nicole), Julia Peters, Maxwell Colletti, Kate Boutler and Mary Boutler.
Visitation at Marsh Funeral Home 305 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee on Friday, October 14th from 9 am, service at Noon, internment to follow at Highland Memorial Park, 33100 Hunt Club Road, Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, denotations to ASPCA in her memory would be appreciated.
