Laurel Jeanne Castellanos, 72, was received in heaven on Friday, April 12th. She passed away surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home in Wesley Chapel, FL. She was born on April 11th, 1952 in Manitowoc, WI, the youngest child of Alma and Frank Konieska. She was met in heaven by her parents, her husband Raymond, sisters Elaine Ackley and Iona Arnon. She was also met by her grandparents and many other beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is survived by her three sisters, Lenora (Joe) Newago of Ashland, WI, Violet Neil of Burlington, WI and Eunice (Don) Shiltz of Eau Claire, WI and her brother Frank (Gloria) Konieska of Burlington, WI. She is also survived by her five children. Two sons Chuck (Stacey) Castellanos, Ricky (Karlene) Castellanos and her three daughters April (Glenn) Garrett, Amber (Adam) Williams, Autumn (Shilo) Buhl, twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Laurel, who was lovingly referred to as “Lolly” loved life. She looked forward to seizing the opportunities that each day had to offer. Many people she met, quickly became friends. Her family and friends were important to her and she invested in them with her time. She found joy in writing letters, sending text messages and making calls. Always making sure that those around her felt loved. She met adversity with humor. Her smile was contagious and she believed hugs brought healing. She will be missed.
Friends and family will gather for a memorial service in Laurel's honor at Marsh Funeral Home in Gurnee, IL on Saturday, April 27th at 12pm.
