She is survived by her husband, Gilbert B. Miller of Waukegan IL; three children, Craig (Lisa) Miller; Debbie Lynn Keenan; Jason Miller; seven grandchildren, Tyler and Jenna Miller, Cody and Logan Keenan, Brayden, Drake and Grant Miller, and great grandson Tucker.
She is preceded in death by her father, Robert N Zimmer and her mother, Ruth C Brandl.
She was born and raised in Waukegan, IL, where she attended Washington Elementary, Waukegan High School, and Northern Illinois University where she graduated with her degree in Education. She went on to complete her Masters Degree Plus.
She spent her thirty-seven-year career teaching first grade at Washington Elementary school. Between attending and teaching Judy holds the record for the longest tenure at Washington School. She loved teaching and tutored many children over the years.
She was married to Gibb Miller on March 25, 1967, for 56 years. They enjoyed vacationing with their friends and family at their summer home in Shawano, WI for many years. Her other hobbies included playing cards (Hand and Foot), solving crossword puzzles, and getting together with her domino and book clubs. Along with her day-to-day hobbies, Judy had a passion for her health and fitness in her later years. She went to multiple classes just about every day and made many great new friends in the process. Many loved ones attempted to include themselves with her at the Centre Club over the years, but nobody was ever able to keep up with little ol’ Judy.
Although it is going to be a difficult road forward for Judy’s loved ones, the path towards happiness has already begun with a sense of comfort knowing she passed away peacefully in her daughter Debbie’s arms. Instead of enduring her fears and pains that had suddenly begun to arise and dwell over her, she was blessed to live a long, beautiful life that most people only dream of living, able to go out on her own terms, and be surrounded by those who loved her most all the way till the end. Judy was very devoted to her family. As busy as she was, she always made time for her grandchildren, listened to a problem, or sewed on a missing button. Her loved ones knew they could always count on her and will continue to push forward knowing they will always have their guardian angel.
At Judy’s core, she was an irreplaceable form of pure light and joy, whose true calling was to spread authentic love and smiles. Therefore, this is how all of those she encountered, including all of you, must continue moving forward. Judy was a beautiful soul that will always be missed and cherished.
The family of Judith Miller thanks you for your outpouring of love and comfort through this difficult time. God bless you.
