Joseph Ventura

Joseph (Joe) Ventura, 60 years old, was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 7, 1957 and passed away peacefully in Glenview JourneyCare Hospice on July 25, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father Charles Ventura and his mother, Teruko Fujiki Ventura. Joe will be forever remembered by his sister, Mariko Ventura (David Cohen) of Evanston, Illinois and brothers David (Susan Keith) of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Charles Jr.(Shelley) of Grays Lake, Illinois. He was the dear uncle to Dawn Flood Fenton (Scott) of Carmel Valley, California, Jonathan Flood of Chicago, David Aaron Ventura, Hastings, Minnesota and Matthew Thomas Ventura (Soo-Jin) of New Jersey, and great uncle to Alivia. Joe was loved and will be forever remembered by his Aunt Anne Drucker and many other relatives and friends.

Joe was a passionate vocalist who loved entertaining people around him with his original songs while playing the guitar. His kind and loving presence came through-- whether helping his elderly friends with shopping, walking their dogs, singing a song for them, or never refusing to dance with a partner. He will be missed by the Cohen family-- his presence was always a part of the Holiday Season and other family events.

Visitation and a memorial will be held at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee, Illinois on Friday August 17, from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm.
