Jesus Abraham Ruiz Serna

Jesus Abraham Ruiz Serna Sr., age 64, of Zion, Il. passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Jesus Abraham was born on August 4, 1958 in Mexico to Juan Ruiz and Elva Serna. He moved to the United States in 1966. Jesus Abraham married Laura Hernandez in Sabinas Hidalgo, NL. Mexico on January 16, 1982. Jesus Abraham started working construction and in the field for over 16 years. In 1990, he started his own company, Jesse Ruiz Landscaping and Plowing and ran it for over 30 years. He was a longtime member of Blessed Trinity Parish – Holy Family. Jesus Abraham enjoyed working on his farm. He enjoyed being outdoors, taking care of his vegetable garden, bulls, chickens, cows and working long hours in his barn. His greatest joy was spending time with his family whom he loved and adored.

Jesus Abraham is survived by his wife, Laura Ruiz; four children, Marlen (Isreal) DeLourdes, Jesus Abraham (Amber) Ruiz Jr., Damaris (Ricardo) Ramos and Reynol Ruiz; his parents; seven grandchildren, Isaiah, Isali, Mila, Luis, Ellie, Ricardo Jr., Ronaldo; four siblings, Gonzalo, Juan Antonio, Mario Alonso and Blanca Margarita Ruiz as well as many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

A Mass for Jesus Abraham will be held at 10:00am on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Most Blessed Trinity Parish – Holy Family (450 Keller Avenue, Waukegan, IL) with burial to follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Marsh Funeral Home (305 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL) from 1:00pm until 4:00pm.
