Jean Rose Tierney

She is a beloved niece and goddaughter to Dolores Kurtz and a cherished aunt to Michael Kurtz, Jennifer Neal, Scott Marlega, Tim Marlega, Kelly Marlega, Jeffery Pikus, and Kari Pikus. She is cousin to Thomas Kurtz, Christine Pikus, and Karen Marlega. Jean will be missed by her many friends and neighbors in Gurnee, especially Mike and Linda McGee.

Jean had a lifetime career in the medical field, starting off as a pediatric nurse and respiratory therapist and then working for the Joint Commission for over 25 years. As a consultant for the Joint Commission, Jean traveled all over the US to survey health care organizations. Jean loved gardening, traveling, and spending time with family and friends in her longtime Gurnee home. She will be remembered fondly for her big heart, loving personality, and contagious laugh and smile. May she rest in peace with our Lord and be reunited with her mother, father, and brother.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 9AM with a funeral mass to follow at 10AM at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6401 Gages Lake Rd. Gurnee, IL 60031. Interment at St. Adalbert's Catholic Cemetery, Niles, IL.
