Harry James Dahms Sr, 68, passed away Friday, June 1, 2012 at his home in Russell, Illinois. A visitation is scheduled for Sunday, June 10, 2012 from 1:00 to 6:00 pm at Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee. Friends may sign the online register book at www. dignitymemorial.com.
Born on January 14, 1944 in North Chicago, Illinois. He served and was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1971. He was employed by Abbott Laboratories as Asst. Fire Chief. He was also employed by the Lake County Fairgrounds and served as a board member. He was the owner of Harry D's Red Noodle/Route 45 restaurant and most recently self employed. He was also a volunteer for the Newport Township Fire Department. He was a member of the Lake County Mounted Posse Lake Shore Harley Davidson Owners Group.
Survivors include one son, Harry J. Dahms Jr and his wife Kim of Bristol, Wisconsin; one daughter, Robin M. Dahms (Remel) and her husband Bill of Dacula, Georgia; six grandchildren, Daniel Remel, Bailey Dahms, Wesley Remel, Elijah Remel, Jessie Dahms, and Riley Dahms; two nephews and a niece, and countless friends. He is also survived by his ex-wife, Peggy Dahms (Budnik ) of Rockwood, Tennessee. In addition to his parents and grandparents he is preceded in death by his one brother, Ed Dahms.
