Florentina Ramos

Tina was born on April 19, 1938 in Manati, Puerto Rico. Tina’s first job was with St. Therese Hospital as a lab technician. Tina dedicated and devoted herself to raising her daughters and being a housewife until she rejoined the workforce and was hired at Abbott Laboratories. She worked at Abbott up until 1972, when she left to manage the family clothing business, TNT Shack on Genesse Street, downtown Waukegan. She returned and retired from St. Therese Hospital as a licensed nurse’s aide in 1980

Tina was a lifelong and active member of Most Blessed Trinity (Holy Family Church) in Waukegan. She enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, sports, music and most of all spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Tony Ramos in 2004, daughter Rose Lillian Ramos in 1957, parents Sotero and Edelmira Rosario and beloved brothers and sisters.

She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her loving daughters, Marilu Luna of Wadsworth, Illinois, Theresa Alameda (David) of Hoffman Estates, Illinois, Judy Holmes (Jeff) of Waukegan, Illinois and Priscilla Rodriguez of Chicago, Illinois; her adoring grandchildren Eric Luna (Johanna), Emily Luna, Michelle Alameda-Sherman (David), Danielle (Carlos) Becerra, David Alameda III, Alyssa Rodriguez, Sara Rodriguez and Andrew Holmes and great grandchildren Luke and Noah Luna, Eva and Julia Sherman;

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 10am at Most Blessed Trinity, 450 Keller Ave. Waukegan with a visitation prior from 9am to 10am. Interment at Ascension Cemetery
