Eleanor was a great person and a great benefactor in so many ways to the Waukegan community. Her support of work to better our community was truly a shining example of what can be achieved by drive and tenacity.

I'll also miss new additions to her creative detective stories of "Big Mac," Marti MacAlister. On reading the first one I was surprised that Eleanor wrote such "gritty" novels showing the more dangerous side of life. Her staging of stories in Waukegan, under the name Lincoln Prairie, always made them more interesting as the locations and even some organizations became readily identifiable. The Carnegie Library, Genesee Theatre and Bowen Park all played major roles and it was fun to decipher how she had renamed major streets.

Let me thank Eleanor’s family for sharing her with the rest of us. She was a delightful person who will be both missed and long remembered.

Todd, I am sorry for your loss.  I pray God's peace and comfort for you and your family.  I know it's hard for you right now, but, God has you in the palm of his hand. Trust him,
