Edith – or Edie as she was known to friends – is preceded by her brother Hector and grandchild Julian. Edith is survived by children, Gianni, Mitchell, Giannelli, and Efrain; her daughter-in laws, Esmeralda, and Nataly; her grandchildren, Emely, Rosalie, Kyranni, Liam, and Victoria; and many loving sisters, brother, nieces, and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Edith’s education and accomplishments include becoming a Certified Phlebotomist and Medical Assistant. During her training at a technical college, she had many accomplishments, including making the Dean's list on multiple occasions. Edie was a self-starter, motivated and very loving. During her early childhood/high school years, she participated in various groups, notably the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA), where she participated in competitive events and preparing students for future leadership opportunities.
Edith was a free spirit, well-travelled, and a fun person to be around. She would tell her anecdotes and have everyone laughing. As a younger lady, she enjoyed many trips and at one point even made her way to the Grammys. She was dedicated to physical fitness. She always encouraged others around her to be their best person.
Edith will forever be loved and missed.
Funeral services for Edith will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Marsh Funeral Home in Gurnee. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM with service at 12:00 PM, and interment to follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville.
