Donald J. Bratton

Born on March 8, 1936, to Fred and Pearl Bratton, Don spent his childhood in West Virginia with his brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Don married the love of his life, Agnes Howell, on September 17, 1955. Don and Agnes went on to have a family that included their children, Jack, Les, Donald Jr. and Nora. Don and Agnes moved their family from West Virginia to Illinois and lived there happily for 35 years. Don enjoyed working with his hands and was a roofer by trade until he retired. Don enjoyed being outdoors and going out to breakfast with his family.

Don is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Pearl Bratton, his wife Agnes (Howell) Bratton, his daughter-in-law Rachel Kodner, and his grandson Jonathan Bratton.

Don left behind his children, Jack (Susan), Les (Jean), Donald Jr. and Nora. He also left behind his grandchildren Katie (Ben), Jena (Andrew), Jacob (Hunter), Daniel (Alyssa), Lisa, Zachary, and Nathan, as well as his great-grandchildren Ashlyn, Addison, Hayden, and Madelyn.

Please join us in celebrating Don's life on August 18, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at Marsh Funeral Home in Gurnee, IL. A service will be held at 4:30pm.
