It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clifton Allan Sargent (Buck), who left this world on October 11th, 2023, at the age of 82. He passed away peacefully at Vista Hospital located in Waukegan, Illinois. Clifton was born on November 18, 1941, and lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication.
Clifton, known to many as "Buck," was a beloved husband to Diane Sargent. Together, they shared a life filled with countless cherished memories, and their love was a testament to the enduring power of commitment.
Buck was a devoted father to his children: Debbie (Ron Grant), Donna Sargent, and Linda Sargent-Hernandez. He was also a loving grandfather to Garrett (Hayley), Nicole, Craig, Ronnie Grant, Scott and Diane Prokopek, Caden, and Meagan Hernandez. His legacy continued with great-grandchildren Teo Cordero and Sawyer Grant, who brought immense joy to his life.
Clifton was a man of many talents and experiences. He served his country with honor as a United States Marine for four years, enlisting on April 19, 1961. His dedication and sacrifice as a Marine left an indelible mark on those who knew him. After his military service, he pursued a career as a meat cutter, and his work ethic was unwavering.
Clifton was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Mildred Sargent, as well as two sisters, Cleo Haworth and Kathy Baldwin and Son in law Gilbert Hernandez. He now joins them in eternal rest, leaving behind cherished memories for those who loved him.
Friends and family will gather for a celebration of Clifton's life that will take place at Marsh Funeral Home on October 21st, 2023 at 4:00 PM. Visitation hours will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, allowing family and friends to pay their respects, and share their memories of a life well-lived.
Clifton Allan Sargent (Buck) will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His warmth, humor, and unwavering love for his family will be remembered forever. As he always reminded his family and we will continue to remind each other “Love you, say your prayers and drive safely”. May he rest in peace, his legacy living on in the hearts of those who loved him.
