

Borge Rasmussen, 92, was born April 8, 1917 in Chicago, and passed away February 21, 2010 in Waukegan, IL. Borge graduated from Waukegan High school in 1935 and from Lake Forest College with a Business degree in 1939 and received CPA certification shortly thereafter. He retired from Highland Park City Hall as a CPA in March 1975. A lifelong Waukegan resident, Borge started out working in the family bakery in Waukegan called "Rasmussen's bakery" and delivered bakery goods door to door by horse and wagon before going to school each day. He also helped run the family night club called the "Red Pepper", located on Green Bay Rd, south of Belvidere Rd., where he also resided for 50 plus years. He was a kind soul, a friend to all, and beloved family member. Surviving him are cousins, Carol (Dennis) Peterson, Charlene Snider, Rose (Joe) Pankratz, Mary Cramer, Ellen Wesemann, Nancy Carbis, and many other cousins. He also leaves behind cherished friends, Patricia Ginnelly, Brian Landsverk, his son Andrew Landsverk, Ed and Dee Sievertson, and Phillip Alfaro. Borge was preceded in death by his parents, Jens O. Rasmussen and Franciska Marie Cramer who were Danish immigrants that arrived in Chicago in 1912. Funeral Service will be 10:00am Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N. Cemetery Rd. Gurnee, IL. with a visitation from 9 to 10am. Burial will be at Northshore Garden of Memories in North Chicago, IL. Contributions may be given to Church or Charity of your choice.
