Husband of Jean (Bierma), father of Christine (Mitchell Ferreira) and Daniel. Survived by his mother, Marion Ross, and sisters Marjorie Korte (Christopher), Marlene Ross, and Marian Brown (Jeff). John was also the beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his father, Wilmer Ross (2009), and brother-in-law, Bruce Maier (2005).John will be remembered by many extended family members and close friends.
John was born in Cambridge, Ontario. He graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Environmental Studies (BES, 1985). John began working for the Government of Canada in 1985. He continued working there until he retired in 2022 from Public Services and Procurement Canada as Client Accommodations Services Officer in the role of Accommodations Manager- Ontario Region.
Friends and family are invited to share stories of remembrance during an informal service and Celebration of John’s Life on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home – Hart Chapel (1099 Gordon St. Guelph). An opportunity to share your stories of John will commence at 2:30 pm. Cremation has taken place.
Remembrances of John's kindness, loyalty, and compassion can be made to the Friends of Algonquin Park and Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.
