Roberts, Wayne Philip - Passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013 in Guelph, Ontario. Wayne was the beloved husband of Mary-Dawn, the loving father of Todd (Diana) and Shawn (Shannon) and the cherished grandfather of Keegan, Adriana, Andrew, Brayden and Keira. He was the dear son of Foster and the late Eva Roberts and the much loved son-in-law of the late Jean Graham. He is survived by his brothers Colton (and his wife Susan) and Marvin as well as close family friend Paul Gagne. Wayne was born and raised in rural Nova Scotia. The family left the Maritimes when he was young and moved to Hamilton. He graduated from Salt Fleet High School. While raising a young family with his loving wife, he completed an Undergraduate degree from Brock University and a Graduate degree from the University of Guelph. He spent his working years in public service, with OMAFRA, Agriculture Canada, the Tender Fruit and Grape Growers Marketing Boards and Landscape Ontario. Wayne's life revolved around his family, friends, colleagues and community. He was very active in the agricultural industry, spanning growers, the private sector and the public sector. He was a generous soul and will be deeply missed. His sudden death makes his passing that much more tragic. The family appreciates the heart-felt condolences coming from the many people that Wayne's life touched. Family will receive friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, on Friday, July 12, 2013 from 3-5 p.m. and again on Saturday, July 13, 2013 from 11-1 p.m. with a funeral service to follow in the chapel at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow, with future internment at Knox Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Township of Oro-Medonte.
