BARRETT, Dr. Stanley R. - The Barrett family sadly announces the reality that our beloved husband, father, uncle and grandfather passed from our midst on Tuesday, October 19, 2021. He is predeceased by brothers Ron, Tom and Graeme. Stan was a scholar, sportsman, and traveller, recognized by his immense collection of knowledge, his hearty laugh and love for his family. He was professor emeritus of Anthropology at University of Guelph and author of many highly esteemed publications in his field. He will be missed from the squash and tennis courts and his beloved hiking trails in France.
Dr. Stanley R. Barrett completed his undergraduate degree at Acadia University, his M.A. at University of Toronto and PhD at Sussex University in the UK. He played varsity hockey and football while at Acadia and was awarded the Cox Trophy for outstanding achievement in athletics and academics.
