With great sadness and broken hearts, we announce the passing of Ron. The heavenly gates were opened wide as he left us peacefully at the Hamilton Juravinski Hospital on June 7, 2014 at the age of 50. The void in our lives and in our hearts will be filled with memories of the greatest man we've ever known. Ron spent 30 wonderful years with the love of his life, Cindy (nee Coyle) and had two beautiful sons, Riley and Blake, whom he called his best friends. Ron adored his family; mom June Trento-Reynolds (pre-deceased by Brian Reynolds June 5, 2014), brother Rick Trento (Cathy), sisters Ginny Dean (Carl) and Julie Scroccaro (Frank). Much loved in-laws Frank and Ollie Coyle, Deb Schmidt (Mike), Joe Coyle (Chris) and Todd Coyle. Ron was the uncle every kid dreamed of having and those who were lucky enough to call him Uncle Ron will remember his laughter, generosity and love. Sadly missed by Jenn, Vince, Shawn, Craig, Krista, Laura, Brandon, Nicole, Travis, Shannon (Scott) and great uncle to Logan and Abbie. Predeceased but never forgotten; his father Virginio Trento (1998) and brother Wayne Trento (1975). Ron had an extended family that grew each and every time he met a new face. He had a true passion for people and an incredible ability to welcome newcomers into his circle of friends. Ron was a Computer Programmer for 15 years before he joined Abell Pest Control. He always treated each home and business as if it were his own; not leaving until he knew the job was done to perfection. He had a love for sports, playing and coaching baseball and playing hockey. His personality, enthusiasm and kindness as a coach left a permanent mark on the children he enjoyed coaching. Everyone wanted Coach Ron to be on their team! His dedication for his Boston Bruins hockey team was second to none. He would wear Bruins attire all year long in support of the team he was so proud of. His lifelong hero was Bobby Orr. Ron had a personality that could light up an entire room just by entering it. He was the kindest, most considerate man, never asking for anything from anyone but doing as much as he could for those who asked and even those who didn't. Ron suffered greatly for many months but always with a smile and a positive attitude. He was the dad every kid prayed for; the friend no one wanted to live without, the son any parent would be proud of, the brother every sibling wished for, the family member who brought so much joy to each and every family function, but most of all he was the husband who after 30 years still made his wife's heart skip a beat each and every time she saw him. True love is very rare but in Ron’s household it was easily spotted and extremely contagious. Always loved and never forgotten...see you on the other side!! Family and friends are invited to the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, for visitation on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 7–9 pm and on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
