MANN, Peter McGeary - Pete passed away at the age of 85, on October 20, 2012. Beloved husband of 57 years to Marian (nee Wallace).Sadly missed by his children Barbara, Cathy (John Fairchild), Marian (Rob Butler); his grandchildren Zachary, Jason, Bronwyn Fairchild and, Samuel, Daniel and Olivia Butler. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and friends for his quick wit and velcro mind. Predeceased by 3 brothers and sister Nancy (Jim Wood). Peter was educated at UWO and UofT, Ontario, and worked as a faculty member in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Guelph for 35 years. Over the course of his life, Pete shared his passion for nature, aviation and stamps. He regularly contributed articles and edited many publications and was the Archivist for MAAC. Many thanks to Dr. Ali, the staff of CCAC, his in home PSWs, and nurses and the staff at Guelph General Hospital and Hospice Wellington. Memorial visitation will be held at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N, Guelph, from 12-1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 (their 58th Wedding Anniversary). A Memorial Service will follow immediately in the chapel at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations made to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
