Peter Christian Debreczeni of Guelph, Ontario passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 26th, 2023 at age 29 from a Fentanyl overdose. Peter was the cherished and much-loved son of Andrea Oberdorff and the late Peter L. Debreczeni, and his brother David Oberdorff. Peter will be missed by all family members including his stepfather Joshua Oberdorff, Aunt Eva, Aunt Noemi and family, Uncle Richard and family, and Grandfather Julius. Peter is now joined with his other grandparents Eva Mama, Elizabeth and Peter Sr. who predeceased him.
Peter was a happy, and loving child, at an early age he developed an interest in gardening, reading and the outdoors, he loved fishing, boating, kayaking, water skiing and ice skating with his mother in Naples, FL and had a passion for hiking and portaging with his father in Algonquin Park, Ontario and surrounding areas. In his teens he became a foodie and would seek out chef owned restaurants and enjoyed cooking, he also had a great love for music, attended concerts and played the violin. Peter drew and painted watercolors and appreciated art, his favorite being Picasso’s blue period which was a sign of the depression he struggled with at times.
A heartfelt thank you to the Guelph EMS, the Guelph Fire Department and everyone who attended to my son on September 26th. Thank you for being with him and providing him comfort during his final moments.
