Dorothy was a kind and caring mother, generous with charities, lover of classical music, animals and she was keenly interested in politics and current events. She was an enthusiastic player of bridge and other games. Dorothy grew up in Waterloo, graduated from K-WC&VS and worked locally as an auto mechanic during WWII. She married her English husband Jack, an RAF navigational instructor seconded to Canada during WWII and subsequently settled in England where she gave birth to Peter. The family resettled in Canada in the K-W area where Anne was born. Dorothy was a loving mother and housewife and later cared devotedly for Jack during his lengthy fight with cancer and dementia. She worked as a Red Cross blood donor clinic coordinator in her later years. Even into her 90’s she nurtured relationships with many friends from her high school days, all of whom, to her great sorrow, predeceased her. After a hip replacement, at age 96, Dorothy resided at the Elliott Community in Guelph.
