Laura Catherine Kurtz

KURTZ, Laura Catherine - It is with sadness and joy that we announce our mother's passing at the Leisureworld Nursing Home in Elmira on Monday, November 30, 2009. Laura Catherine (Klein) Kurtz, age 96 years, was the beloved wife of the late Michael Kurtz (1992). She was the loving mother of Ron and his wife Rose of Brantford, Ken and his wife Sheila of St. Jacobs, and Carol Ann and her husband Larry Knarr of Elmira. Laura was the proud grandmother of Roger, Lynn, Michelle, Kelly, Carrie, Jacob, Darrell, Sheri, Tracy, and Lori, and she was the great-grandmother of eighteen great-grandchildren. Laura was the dear sister of Mary Warren of Guelph, and Frances Waechter of Kitchener. She was predeceased by three brothers and four sisters. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel , 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, where the family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Laura will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Boniface Church, Maryhill on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 10:30 a.m., Father Ron Voisin officiating. Interment, St. Boniface Cemetery, Maryhill. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Programs and Activities at Leisureworld or to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
