Please pass along my very sincere condolences to Eileen Hammill, and to her grandson JP, who was a good friend of my son Garth when both attended Victory Public School.. My husband and I are in Florida for the winter so were unable to attend the visitations or funeral. Despite our vastly different political affiliations, Ken was a good friend who often offered timely advice to me as a city councillor from 2000 to 2014, and he was an outstanding friend to Guelph. His shoes will be hard to fill. Thank you

I was sorry to learn about the passing of your grandfather and father.  I remember him coming to Zorra to watch the various performances of the grandchildren. He was always dressed to the nines. From what I have read he was held in high regard in the Guelph community. Please accept my condolences for your loss.

Dear Eileen and Cassie, 
Working with Ken to start up the Guelph Community Foundation was truly one of my career highlights. He never lost sight of his vision for Guelph and the foundation and while we wouldn't always agree, we all wanted the same outcome - a better community for all. 
Mom (Shirley Rennie), has been sharing memories of 'Bud' during their teens and sends her sympathies. These are not easy days for you and the family and wishing you much strength as so many come to support you. 
Cassie, the loss of your father is huge and I am sending you my deepest condolences.  I am currently traveling this week and unable to be there in person but please know that I am thinking of you and your mom.

Dear Eileen. I was deeply saddened to hear of Ken’s passing.  So many memories over so many years.  His kindness when Jack passed and his beautiful and thoughtful words spoke at his funeral comforted my family so much.  The good times on the start up of the Charitable Foundation, the planning and executions of the Guelph Birthday Gala, our time in Rotary, his guidance when I too served on Council .  So many great memories.  He was a true friend of Guelph,  My deepest sympathies to you and your family.  My family send their love.

Sherron and I offer our sympathies to Eileen and her family on Ken's passing. Over his years on city council and the  years thereafter Ken served our city well.  He could be forceful and direct at times but always fair. Ken would never expect of another what  he would not expect of himself. "Can I have a quiet word?"  These are Ken's first words to me when I joined the University of Guelph in 2004.  He made himself my advisor, guide, navigator in creating the relationships that would be meaningful and important in the Guelph and alumni community.  This was Ken's style, a quiet word, gentle advice, meaningful discussions and a deep passion for community and doing the right thing.  My sincere condolences to the Hammill family.  Ken will be deeply missed as he made such a tremendous impact on so many people.

Deepest condolences to the Hammill family from the ownership, staff and players of the Guelph Storm. We will miss seeing Ken at our games, he was a true fan and wonderful person. 

When the Hammill-Mack trees of life were formed, they contained the multiple gifts of  family, wisdom, understanding, leadership, humour, integrity, giving back,............ To Eileen, Cassie, Mike and John-thank you sincerely for sharing with all in our community. Ken's life is a legacy of love and leadership.
