Judy Campbell

Judy died at the Wellington Terrace Long Term Care Home on Thursday, January 9, 2014. She is survived by her loving husband James Campbell of Guelph, her sons John Sinclair (Patti) of Calgary, Brad Sinclair (Linda) or Mississauga, her daughter Heather Sinclair (Phillip) of Guelph, grandchildren Kathleen, Anna, Andrew, James, Megan, David, and Lauren, and her brother William Kirkland (Anna) of Tillsonburg. Predeceased by her parents William C. Kirkland and Helen (Gifford) Kirkland, her sister Kathryn Marshall, her brother James A. Kirkland, daughter Cynthia Tomlinson and son-in-law Neil Tomlinson. Judy graduated as a nurse from the Hospital for Sick Children, School of Nursing in 1954 and worked as a nurse in a number of major Canadian cities before retiring from the University of Guelph’s Student Health Services in 1995. That same year she and Jim built a cottage at property on Fox Lake, ON. Judy was an active member of the St. James the Apostle congregation until her health began to fail in 2008. In 2009 Judy moved into the Caressant Care Long Term Care facility in Arthur before transferring to Wellington Terrace facility in Fergus on December 31, 2009 where she has resided for the past four years. Judy’s family cannot thank the staff of the Wellington Terrace enough for their care and kindness to Judy over these years. Judy’s selflessness and humour touched the lives of all who knew her. Her children and grandchildren will continue to remember Mom, Gramma, Gramma-Judy, and Jamma as a fierce inspiration and role model. Funeral services will be held at St. James the Apostle Anglican Church, 86 Glasgow St. N., Guelph on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. James Church or to “Sleeping Children Around the World” in Judy’s memory would be appreciated by the family.
