It is with profound sadness and unending love that we announce the unexpected passing of John Williams on June 22, 2022 at the age of 65,
Born in Guelph, Ontario to the late Olive and Denzil Williams on July 31, 1956. His family heritage was Welsh, which he was extremely proud of.
John loved theatrical arts. He became seriously interested in acting at age 25 and over the next 26 years. He performed in 24 plays, two musicals, three variety shows, three murder mysteries and a movie. He also produced a challenging two-man play.
John’s love of sports and writing merged when he co-published Buffalo based Sports & Leisure Magazine, from 1997 through 2015 and was distributed in Buffalo, Rochester and Southern Ontario. John interviewed many great athletes. He also loved to watch sports, particularly his beloved Hamilton Tiger Cats and Welsh Rugby. John traveled to Europe and attended several rugby matches in Wales, England and Ireland.
Left behind to cherish wonderful memories, his partner Marian Giallombardo, his sisters, Elaine Hill (Phil Gartner), Janet Reilly (Brian) and Pam Wakefield (Jeff). John was like a son to the late Sal and Shirley Giallombardo (Buffalo, NY) and brother to Susie and Nancy Giallombardo.
He leaves behind many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon St, Guelph, on Friday July 8 2022 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 12:00 p.m. Memorial Donations may be made in memory of John Williams to the Neurofibromatosis Foundation-Julia's Tea Party -- https://www.ctf.org
